NERO Boston Volta Campaign Policies 1. We will not run any storylines to change time, history, or otherwise alter events that have already transpired in-game. 2. We will hold out-of-game Opening Ceremonies promptly at 10:00 pm on Friday night of weekend events unless otherwise posted. Every event attendee must attend opening ceremonies. 3. We will make notifications in-game and out-of-game on the NEROŽ Boston web site, as well as making the announcements during our out-of-game opening ceremonies. We will strive to maintain the environment we have created in the game. 4. In fairness to all active players we will be instituting an inactive or absent player policy. If a player is leaving the game due to out-of-game circumstances, we request that our staff be notified on what their character is doing during the absence. If three consecutive events have been missed with no notification, the unexplained absence will be considered in-game, and plot will not be responsible for lost noble titles, storylines, etc. 5. Magic Items: ONLY Unrestricted Magic Items with 5 effects or less or items marked "Local Chapter Only - Volta" will work in Volta. Any Item that can Cloak or Bane 9th Level Spells of Effects are not allowed. Grandfathered items and effects are not allowed. Any old items should be turned in to logistics as they are no longer valid. 6. Magic Items Usage: The proper use of magic items that duplicate spells is: "Activate" <Spell INCANTATION>. In the case where a choice is made it must be Activate <Spell Incant & Choice> ex. "Activate I summon a force to Disarm your Long Sword." 7. Auto-Max: The Volta campaign is an auto-max campaign. As an event attendee, your character is given XP for the event equal to twice your character's total build points. 8. White Head Bands: You must have a white headband on if you are out-of-game. If you have no white headband on, you are in-game. 9. Life Spells: If you are given a LIFE spell from anyone, you are responsible for knowing WHO cast the spell on you. 10. Cast On The Fly: Under the Cast On The Fly technique in Volta, spellcasters are required to track the use of the spells in their "pyramid." While it is not required that you have a spell book on your person, when casting spells it is required that you have access to a spell book to study from and that you actively study from it during 'reset'. If you do not have access to a spell book with the spell Shield Magic in it then you may not cast Shield Magic spells. A single spell book may be used by multiple players provided they perform all required in-game role-play to do so. Note that spell books are not tagged items. 11. Fleeing Game Area: NEROŽ is unfortunately limited by the boundaries of the camps where the game is played. Should you for any reason ever wish to leave the game area and go out-of-game while being pursued, searched for, or likely to be pursued, you must remain in-game on the camp site for 60 minutes and then cross any camp boundary before going out-of-game. If during the 60 minute count you are detected by any pursuer or searcher, the count must begin again after eluding the pursuer or searcher. Being detected is defined as being seen and the detecting party finding you making it known to you that you have been detected. This notification can be a simple shout of "I see you" or sneaking up on you and attacking. This rule applies to NPCs as well as PCs. 12. Sportsmanship and Safety: All PCs and NPCs must follow the NEROŽ Boston Combat Sportsmanship and Safety policy.
